DriverArmor (“we,” “us,” “our”) is a commercial fleet safety and compliance platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use the DriverArmor platform, including our automated SMS notification services, compliance tracking tools, and fleet safety intelligence products.
Data Controller: DriverArmor, a registered trade name of J-Star LLC (a Maryland limited liability company), is the data controller for the personal information you provide.
1. Information We Collect
Information You Provide at Enrollment
- Account information: name, mobile phone number, email address, company name
- Professional credentials: CDL number, MC/DOT numbers, driver qualification data
- Consent records: opt-in preferences, enrollment timestamps, and digital signatures
Information Generated Through Platform Use
- SMS communications: messages sent to and received from you through the platform notification system
- Vehicle telematics: GPS location, speed, engine fault codes, fuel level, and diagnostic data from connected ELD devices
- Compliance data: FMCSA violation records, DataQ filing status, inspection results, and safety scores
- Platform usage: IP address, browser type, feature usage patterns
2. How We Use Your Information
- Platform services: delivering safety notifications, compliance alerts, DataQ status updates, and diagnostic intelligence
- Violation protection: monitoring FMCSA records, identifying violation patterns, and managing DataQ challenges on your behalf
- Fleet safety: vehicle health monitoring, fault detection alerts, preventive maintenance intelligence, and fuel optimization
- Regulatory compliance: FMCSA, DOT, and state transportation regulatory record-keeping
- Product improvement: analyzing usage patterns to improve platform reliability, safety alert accuracy, and compliance coverage
We use your information solely to deliver and improve platform services. We do not use your mobile phone number, message data, or telematics data for marketing, advertising, or promotional purposes.
3. Mobile Data Policy
No mobile data will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/ promotional purposes at any time.
Mobile data collected through the DriverArmor platform includes your mobile phone number, SMS message content, delivery status, and opt-in/opt-out records. This data is used exclusively to deliver the platform services you enrolled in.
We do not:
- Sell, lease, or rent your mobile phone number or SMS data to any third party
- Share your mobile data with affiliates or partners for their marketing or promotional use
- Use your mobile phone number for any purpose other than delivering platform notifications you consented to receive
- Permit any third-party access to your mobile data for advertising, marketing, or promotional purposes
The only third party that processes your mobile data is Twilio, our SMS delivery infrastructure provider. Twilio is contractually prohibited from using your data for any purpose other than delivering messages on our behalf.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. No mobile data will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/ promotional purposes at any time.
We share information only with:
- Infrastructure providers: Twilio (SMS delivery), Motive (ELD telematics integration), Anthropic (AI-powered diagnostics) — each bound by data processing agreements
- Legal compliance: when required by law, regulation, subpoena, or governmental request
- Safety emergencies: when necessary to protect driver safety or public safety
5. SMS Communications (TCPA)
In compliance with the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) and applicable state laws:
- We obtain prior express written consent before sending any SMS notifications
- All messages are transactional platform notifications — never marketing or promotional
- You may opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message

- Message frequency varies by active alerts; typically 2–10 messages per day during active monitoring

6. Data Retention
- Account data: retained while your subscription or enrollment is active; removed within 30 days of account closure
- SMS logs: retained per FMCSA and TCPA record-keeping requirements (typically 3–6 years)
- Telematics data: retained per DOT/FMCSA ELD mandate requirements
- Consent and opt-out records: retained permanently for compliance audit purposes
7. Security
We protect your information with:
- Encrypted storage of credentials and sensitive personal data
- Role-based access controls limiting data access to authorized personnel
- HTTPS/TLS encryption for all data in transit
- Regular security practice reviews and access audits
No system is 100% secure. We are committed to industry-standard practices but cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Your Rights

- Correction: request correction of inaccurate information
